Can Joingo Target Mobile Audience?

When it comes to reaching casino customers to inform them about special rewards or offers, mobile marketing is taking a leading role. In fact, mobile marketing is becoming more valuable than direct mailings or offers posted on websites.

In order to reach these customers, however, a mobile application is needed. This is where Joingo LLC, which is a San Jose, Calif.-based technology company, comes in handy. They have developed a mobile app menu that allows casinos to customize smartphone applications, and target and interact with loyalty members.

According to Joingo’s co-founder Alex Kanwetz, “We have a one-stop shop solution for a fragmented eco-system of apps. It’s also not about just having an app anymore; it’s about how you use it.”

By using the Mobile Loyalty System which ties into the customer database of a casino the casino is able to create personalized marketing campaigns that are based on the customer’s past history, his or her personalized preferences, as well as geographic location. This allows those casinos that are using the app to create and deliver to time sensitive materials and promotions which were very difficult to do in the past.

In additions, customers who are using the apps can now track their own points and do so anytime, day or night. This is seen as a major convenience for customers who like to keep on top of that sort of information. It also allows these customers to collect their rewards easily. Also, these apps can be easily integrated into social media such as Twitter and Facebook. Kanwetz said, “The value to the player is that they receive something that is personalized.”

Joingo was founded in 2008, and has 25 employees. They plan to increase that number up to 60 by the end of this year. Currently, the company is concentrating on expanding its client base which now includes 12 gaming companies. Kanwetz remarked that the company is focusing on gaming simply because it is a large space and they believe they have the products that can fill some of that space.

One of the major benefits to the Joingo program is that it can be used by casinos of any size. From the largest casinos in Macau to the smallest tribal casinos, all can take advantage of the program. According to Kanwetz, they have a functional mobile marketing or loyalty application running within 30 days. The program is compatible with iPhone, Blackberry, and Android operating systems. It can deliver text messaging and mobile websites, with its text messaging based on personal preference, as well as visit patterns and customer loyalty status.

As for the marketing side, its mobile functions allow casinos to deliver offers and coupons that can be sent and delivered in real time.

The company has also developed what they are calling the Joingo Game Network. This is a new catalog of mobile gaming content that is designed for casinos and it provides the needed infrastructure to deliver these new mobile games to mobile devices. It plans to continue designing new technologies for the booming mobile sector.

Cosmopolitan Making Slow Headway to Profit

The Cosmopolitan is known for being the most expensive property built on the Vegas Strip. It was opened in December of 2010, and even then many analysts were wondering just how long it would be before the casino made a profit. The casino has been running now for 9 financial quarters and the pricey $3.9 billion casino and resort is using lots of red ink on its ledgers. However, the casino did see good increases in its year-over-year segments during its first quarter.

One reason for its slow move to profits is that many other clubs have opened in the local area. And don’t forget the Vegas skyline is full of properties owned or run by MGM Resorts International, Wynn Resorts Ltd., and Caesars Entertainment Corp. It is tough neighborhood to break into, no matter who you are.

So far, the Cosmopolitan has relied on its revenue from food and beverage sales. Since opening, the resort has generated some $648.5 million. For their first quarter, they earned 40 percent of their gross (or $74.7 million) from food and beverage sales. It can be said that non-gaming venues have been very important to them during these early days.

The casino does understand that maintaining an edge is crucial if the business wants to compete with the other big properties. So far, they have been able to do this with their outstanding restaurants and clubs. Also, the resort plans to add to its event space with a new addition that will be called The Chelsea. The new space will be for events and performances. It is expected to be finished later this year, according to the resort. When finished, The Chelsea will be a 50,000-square-foot venue that will be capable of holding more than 3,000 people.

Only 22 percent of the casino’s gross revenues came from gaming. This is down for the average of Strip properties that come in at about 36 percent (for 2012). The Cosmopolitan as reported that it is already seeking new ways to increase its international hosting services, as well as beginning to build a base of slot machine customers, and that it will be expanding alliance programs in order to earn higher casino revenues.

In addition to having to work hard on its revenue streams, the Cosmopolitan has had to weather some bad press lately when negotiations with the Culinary Union went south. Before it was over, union members and supporters had put together a protest of sorts and blocked a portion of the Vegas Strip. This occurred back in March. The talks between the parties have stalled and include issues such as working hours, pensions, health care, and how many rooms each housekeeper is to clean. Officials of the casino believe that a solution can be reached that will be agreeable to all parties.

If an agreement is not forthcoming, it could impact the resort as some people will not cross and picket line on a moral basis, and others will not want to wade through any blockages that lead into or off of the property.

RTG Announces a Santa Rudolph Sequel Slot Game For Players

RTG recently announced that they will be introducing a four slot game into their Santa versus Rudolph’s series. The slot machine game has actually gone live, you can find it at any Realtime Gaming online casino such as Slots Jungle, Sloto Cash, and Club World. In this new slot machine game, the elves have joined sides, that is why the game has been appropriately named The Elf Wars. The Elf Wars is actually more feature-rich and exciting than any of the previous Santa versus Rudolph games. It is extremely visual, and it has exciting features that some of the other games failed to incorporate.

Santa and Rudolph serve as the wild symbols for the game, they provide line payouts and they appear randomly throughout the pay lines. Rudolph is actually dressed up to look like a military dictator, while Santa is a bit more untraditional. Santa is tattooed up, he’s got muscles and big biceps, but of course, he is still dressed up in his usual red and white colors. There are also two scatter symbols that serve throughout the game, one of them is the good elves, which of course are on Santa’s side, and on the other side is the bad elves. These two scatter symbols present an opportunity to enjoy some of the coolest animations you have ever seen in slot machine games. There is also black humor present throughout the game, which has been almost trademarked to this series of Santa versus Rudolph games. You’ll find Rudolph has sent Santa a special gift for Christmas, it’s a little bit of pudding that he should enjoy eating, except that it is actually a bomb. Santa retaliates by giving Rudolph a ton of free food, except that it’s actually wired explosives that are hidden behind delicious looking carrots. They’re actually mean looking snowmen, Rudolph’s naughty list, and gift wrapped card icons that serve as other symbols throughout the game as well.

They’re also good elves that appear randomly throughout the game. These good elves activate special features, such as with Santa Strikes Back, you can get seven free spins and an initial multiplier of one. There are also certain symbols throughout the game that contain candy cane and lit up stars, which you will find located above the reel. If any reel happens to have five stars that are lit up, all of your free spins will reset back to seven and the multiplier will actually increase by one point. You’ll find in the Jackpot Spins, Rudolph is spreadeagled, located across the wheel. There is six segments throughout the wheel, five of them are known to multiply the total bets, and the sixth will activate the progressive jackpot.

There are also three, or possibly more than three bad elves that are scattered randomly throughout the game. These bad elves activate Rudolph’s revenge, and seven free spins will be awarded to you. The multiplier that you will find for each spin is 2, but you have to add the number of Rudolph symbols that you see on the screen as well. This new game is exciting and Christmas spirited and it’s a warm welcome to RTG fans.

Full Tilt Poker Has Been Dishonoring Player and Affiliate Contracts

Recent reports behind the Full Tilt Poker Company suggest that their Black Friday roster of professional players are not going to be compensated with back pay after they newly relaunched their website. The company released this information to the players by sending out an e-mail, which went out to everyone within the casino.

Just before Black Friday, Full Tilt Poker was at its peak, and they were able to employ as many as 100 professional poker players. Many of these poker players were called Red Pros and were part of other leagues around the world. Full Tilt Poker is actually establishing their own poker league, they are known as The Professional, but they are a much smaller team than Red Pros.

Dustin Iannotti is Full Tilt’s Manager and the e-mail that he released read: “Other than the non-US player balances, The Rational Group did not assume any liabilities of the previous Full Tilt Poker companies and therefore previous contractual agreements that Full Tilt Poker may have had including with FTP Red Pros were excluded. As such, The Rational Group is not liable and will not pay for any amounts which may have been due to you under your agreement with any former Full Tilt Poker company.”

Of course, Full Tilt’s “The Professional” poker players certainly can’t be happy about not being compensated for what they rightfully deserved. However, the players are not the only ones that have missed out on this. In fact, affiliates of Full Tilt were also uncompensated for their referrals and website traffic that they delivered to the company.

That e-mail essentially states that any earnings, either as a player, or as an affiliate, will be unpaid by Full Tilt. They announced this after relaunching their website, specifying that any of the money you earned from their previous brands is no longer applicable as an agreement, since they have relaunched and are no longer the same company. A lot of the players and affiliates are very upset about this, because they work hard to deliver traffic and sales to the company, and then they’re just left empty-handed. Affiliates put in a lot of time and dedication into making their affiliate marketing campaign successful, so to have this money go unpaid could be devastating to their finances. Affiliate marketers are people just like you, they promote programs on the Internet so that they can make an income and work from home. A lot of them have families to support and when a company like this cuts ties, a lot of the money they were counting on will no longer come. For Full Tilt, they may never recover some of these affiliates that they will lose because of this settlement. Some of the poker players are even expected to leave the league because of this unfortunate news. Online casinos definitely have to be careful with the actions that they take, deciding to pocket the money instead of paying out the people that work hard and deserve it can be disheartening news to deliver.
